Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 20th, 1980) was an American actor, singer, and dancer. Her initial roles on Broadway included in shows Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. She was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Play to play Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashley, Tony Award winning actor and actress has worked alongside actors and directors on stage and screen throughout the entirety of her professional career. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. In the month of March, 2023 Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The production is produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which brought you Hamilton. Ashford has played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is a remake of the story that took place in the year 2000. Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp were the primary characters of the first impeachment trial in the United States. Ashford was a part of two seasons in the CBS popular comedy B Positive. The show was created by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the show also starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No new to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. She has also appeared in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first character in the role of Lauren on Kinky Boots for which she received a nomination for a Tony Award. Ashford, who was raised in Denver currently splits her time between Los Angeles & New York.
